Starting From the Bottom! 02 Jan 2014, My Big Chop!

What happened right?

I know, I know I was on a roll with my hair until June 2012! Lace wigs, stress and bad water are what happened! Wearing lace wigs was a good way to keep me from damaging my hair with heat and the everyday stress but it also an easy route for me to skip moisturizing my hair. You know how it is…You will do it tomorrow and tomorrow NEVER come. I went almost 2 MONTHS without doing anything to my hair….no washing no moisturizing etc. It finally caught up to me; my hair was falling out by the clump causing my ends to thin. My hair even thinning at the roots! I believe that was from stress and self-relaxing with this bad water in Afghanistan.

I can’t lie and say I don’t miss my relaxed hair but I miss the length more than anything. I do not miss looking at the thin scraggly ends or the burning sensation of the creamy crack as I rub it into my new growth.

Now let’s fast forward to 05 January 2014! Yeaaaaah Baby! On late night of 05 January 2014 I had enough of the all the hair strands that were in my comb after combing my hair. I got the scissors and went at it! Snip...Snip...CHOP...CHOP! It was a wrap for that creamy crack addicted hair! I was about 98% natural minus a few hidden strands of relaxed ends.  I washed my hair that night and was in LOVEEEEEEE with my texture. It was so soft and fluffy and it was EASY to comb through! This begins the start of my natural hair journey! The goal of this blog is to document my process of how I care for my natural hair. 3 years from now I want to reflect on my big chop pictures and prove to myself anything I possible! Here is MY STORY!
